Why This Resource Exists
Connecticut does not operate New Britain custody through a county sheriff jail roster. New Britain Police can process and release a person, or the case can move into court and state DOC custody. Hartford Correctional Center serves New Britain Superior Court for many adult male pretrial holds, while York Correctional Institution is the statewide women's facility. A released person may later appear through a court disposition, DOC discharge status, VINE notice, parole record, or probation order.
This site arranges the official channels by purpose. It explains why a current roster is not a historical release record, how to ask New Britain Police for a report, when the Connecticut DOC search applies, and where federal or immigration custody requires a separate locator. The goal is clear routing, not republishing government data.
Information Organized Here
The main sections follow the questions that arise after custody changes:
- The home page combines the full New Britain released-person lookup with release-record fields and request steps.
- Release Date Lookup separates a tentative DOC or parole date from actual release.
- VINE Inmate Check explains a specific-person custody check and alert registration.
- Post-Release Supervision distinguishes parole, special parole, and court probation.
- Facility pages identify the role of each police, court, corrections, parole, federal, or immigration source.
New Britain has no official 24-hour or 72-hour release feed in the researched sources. Those pages therefore lead with the court, DOC, VINE, police Records Bureau, and FOIA alternatives rather than presenting the weekly police blotter as a release list.
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. It has no connection to New Britain Police, the Connecticut Judicial Branch, Connecticut DOC, BOPP, a jail, sheriff, federal agency, or immigration authority. We cannot release, hold, or transfer anyone. We cannot post bond, schedule a visit, deliver funds, retrieve property, or change a government record. We do not give legal advice.
Only the office that created a record can confirm current custody, release, charges, sentence, supervision, fees, hours, or access restrictions. Details can change after publication.
The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Its pages and linked tools may not be used for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or any other FCRA-covered purpose.
Search Partners
Some pages include search boxes supplied by third-party providers. Those providers control their own results, data practices, and prices. When a visitor follows a tool to a paid signup, this site may receive a referral fee. That support helps keep the reference pages free to read, but it does not influence the official agencies or records described here. A partner result should always be checked against the originating police, court, corrections, parole, federal, or immigration source.
